Not Too Spicy – Found a Home! Sweet, Sensitive, Full of Potential

Not Too Spicy

Spicy is an elegant 16.3 hand Thoroughbred gelding. He is all class and a wonderful mover. Spicy is 12 years old. but only raced 14 times, his last race in May 2009. He is handsome, intelligent, affectionate, willing and a guy who loves peppermints. He has always enjoyed being groomed, blanketed, and being fussed over. He is also good for the vet, farrier, equine dentist, etc. He has no vices.

Until coming into the TPR program, Spicy had one owner since leaving the track at the age of 3. She initially got him as a companion for another horse but in November, 2016, due to health issues, she found it necessary to find him a new home. Since she could not ride him herself, she put him in professional training because she felt his chance at a good life would be better.

He has a current coggins and is up to date on all vaccinations, etc. He has good feet and is training in front shoes only without any issues. Spicy is still green in many ways with regard to his training. He has been given a fundamental foundation but needs someone willing to continue on with his retraining. He will remain in a 5-6 day training program while at Leighton Farm. He will be ridden and trained by Kimberly Godwin Clark.  Spicy is fancy, willing and generous so he will need with the experience and patience to continue his education. If give him the correct foundation, they will have an extraordinary partner.

Spicy is now located at Leighton Farm in Upper Marlboro, Maryland and offered for an adoption fee of $500 to a qualified home only.
