My History

My name is Kimberly Clark and I've been involved with thoroughbred racing for over 25 years.  It is my passion and I am committed to it.

I began my fascination with racing at Pimlico racecourse.  It was there that I saw my first race. My career in racing started as an exercise rider.  As I perfected my craft, I paid careful attention to the way in which horses are trained.  Each trainer has his own views and methods, and as a freelance rider, I got objective exposure to countless training styles.  I spent several winters in Florida, riding for trainers such as Nick Zito and Eddie Plesa.  Through this, I molded my own ideas into a training system that works for me and my owners.

Winning my first stakes race as a trainer in 1995 was great motivation.  The horse was named "Earn My Keep", and that he did.  I've always owned horses myself and think it makes me a more efficient trainer.  I like to be able to talk with owners about their horses and the direction they are heading.  It's more enjoyable when everyone is on the same page.

I have a degree from Villa Julie College.  This gives me a good understanding of the business side of horse racing.

Our training style caters to each horse's individual strengths thereby getting the most out of every horse.  If you breed your own or have a limited number of horses, it's the most profitable way to participate in the "Sport of Kings".

A trainer's style must fit the owner's goals.  Individual care and commitment are the main components of our system.

I gallop every horse in my care, as well as provide additional exercise riders. This allows me not only to see the horses train, but feel them as well.  This combined information gives me an advantage in diagnosing potential problems and assessing talent.
